Crieff Hydro Entrance
Allen, Gordon & co provide Structural Design and CDM Co-ordinator services to Crieff Hydro for refurbishment of entrance
As part of a planned programme of refurbishment and improvement of customer facilities, Crieff Hydro Hotel decided to build a new entrance area for the reception of and checking in and out of guests.
Included in the works was substantial alteration and refurbishment of the adjacent part of the main building to provide access from the existing to the new build, all of which had to be carefully co-ordinated so as to not significantly disrupt the smooth running of the hotel. The enabling works also included alterations to the existing lifts.
Allen, Gordon & co was commissioned to provide Structural Engineering Services for the project and undertake the role of CDM Co-ordinator. The new facility is fully glazed on the front elevation and partly on the return walls and has a fully open plan internal space. This required that the structure be of steel frame construction with no internally exposed structure. In addition, the Client requested that the steelwork externally be expressed to match the ornate nature of visible ironwork in other parts of the hotel.
Allen Gordon and co has been pleased to be involved with all aspects of the refurbishment, alterations and extensions to Crieff Hydro Hotel’s self catering and sports facilities over the last 15 years with a value in the order of £20M.
